I have a 60 watt diode laser with a 400mm x 400mm print area. It can handle many different materials, from leather to aluminum. If you have a custom request, I’m always willing to give it a shot, provided it can fit on the laser bed. Keep in mind, if this is something new, there is always some margin for error and risk involved, but I will always do my best to work with you.
I have a Shapeoko Pro XXL CNC mill, along with most standard wood shop tools (i.e. table saw, routers, planers, jointers, etc.). I don’t typically make furniture, however if it’s something unique to accompany a plaque or custom product, I’m always willing to discuss. The CNC mill can handle most hard and soft woods as well as acrylic and aluminum. Other materials requested will be on a case-by-case basis.
Unfortunately, “it depends.” Custom designs can range from an hour to a few days, depending on complexity and whether you are getting something laser engraved or cut on the CNC. Custom CNC projects take additional time to design, as working in three dimensions is considerably more difficult than two dimensions with a laser. I will typically discuss with you your time frames and urgency, and work with you from there. I do my best to prioritize delivery days, but I also strive to work on one project at a time (when feasible) so that your project gets my full attention until it’s complete.
If you have a custom design you’d like to have engraved, please send it to me in a SVG or similar vector format. If you don’t have that kind of image format, I will likely need to convert it, which will add some time and expense. Once I get it into a burnable format, I will discuss with you whether it’s realistic to have it engraved on the material you’d like. The truth is, some designs look great on a screen, but will not look good as an engraving, but I will work with you!
I am more than happy to try! I work with a few designers to bring visions to life, and will occasionally do design work myself if able, in order to streamline the process and reduce costs for customers. Shoot me an e-mail and let me know what your idea is, and I’ll come up with some concepts!
I accept cash, Paypal, and Venmo. Before beginning your project, I will quote you with an estimate to complete it. Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will do my very best to stick with that estimate to completion! I will send you a proof of concept, and once you give me the go-ahead I will begin work. When complete, I will send you pictures of the completed job (or I can show you in person if you are in the local area of Greenville, NC), and if you are satisfied, I will send you an invoice for payment.
I will quote you on all costs up front and my goal is to maintain great communication with you of any changes that come up.
